I suppose we’ve all known it was coming sooner or later. If it wasn’t the first quarter loss of $12 million dollars that appeared last week, it was probably the release of this gem back in 1993. Either way, Atari announced that it will be retiring from the game development business (oh and by the way, their CEO also resigned). A sad day, even if I cant name anything that Atari has put their finger in for the last 10 years or so.

Since Atari was singlehandedly responsible for pretty much the majority of my life and video games, I thought I at least owed them the respect of saying goodbye.

So for my tribute to Atari, I have spent about 8-10 minutes collecting images and slapping them in to a poorly done collage. Coincidently, about the same amount of time Atari devs spent putting together this other gem, found in the third picture below.
