With the recent revamp of Peppercorn Nation, the President has decided to add another voice to the world of gaming.
Expect to see a new perspective giving reviews, previews and general opinions on the ongoing and upcoming MMOs.
First of all, I know many of you have your eyes on Age of Conan and with the drop of the NDA on May 1st you should expect to see a preview on this site on the latest version of one of the most anticipated games of the year. Age of Conan is probably one of the largest games I’ve ever had to download on my laptop. Weighing in at 13 gigs, the beast of the game will require about 30 gigs of free space to download and install. Thanks to the change of engines, the system requirements are now much kinder and a general rule seems to be if you can run Oblivion you can run AoC at least at minimum settings (I will put this to the test on May 1st).
If you want to test the game yourself or cannot wait for the release on May 20th, then you should head down to FilePlanet for your own key. Basically you have to create an account, subscribe (the minimum option is $15.99 for a three month block), and pray to get your key. Funcom has given Fileplanet a *limited* 50,000 keys to distribute over the weekend and into the end of April. Beware that paying does not mean you will get a key. Here is a little trick that I used:
1) Bookmark
2) Ready all the information you would need to fill out the subscription page (make sure you are also registered with the site)
3) Continually check the bookmark until you see they have keys. A normal page will have a table with the status; you will not see this table when keys are available.
4) Make your account as fast as possible and proceed to checkout and obtaining your key/download link. I notice most keys are delivered in the morning, roughly 10 EST for me. They ran out in about 10-15 minutes. Also note that the game is huge and it will probably take you two full days to download it (avg. speed 150 KB/sec)
Check us out on May 1st for a view of beta!
